Asana needs better filter in any view but particulalry Kanban. See Redbooth’s implementation is it much better. Filter by today, tomorrow, overdue and by assignee

If you use the advanced search functionality you can do it.
You can also save a search as a favourite, and use it as a “view” on a specific project. This gives you a huge flexibility as it does not limit the view on some pre-defined parameter.
Alas, the advanced search is available only to pro accounts
