Feedback: Project Directory Visibility & Default Landing Page

The default visibility setting for new projects is set to public/organization-wide, which causes the project directory to become cluttered with hundreds of projects irrelevant to most users. There is currently no way for individual users to filter the directory to only show projects they are a member of or have created.

Additionally, the project directory is the default landing page upon login, immediately overwhelming new users with an unfiltered list of all company projects. This creates a poor onboarding experience and makes it difficult for new users to understand where to start — it took significant effort to look past this and discover more useful views.

Suggested improvements:

  1. Change the default landing page to a more personal view, such as My Tasks or Home.
  2. Rename the “Projects” tab to something like “Company-Wide Projects” to better set expectations about what it contains.
  3. Add a default filter or user preference to show only projects the logged-in user is a member of, or change the default project privacy setting to “Private to members.”

Isn’t this a way to do that? Or do you mean something else by “project directory” which is not a term Asana uses, I don’t think:

The “Home” page is the default, as far as I know. Can you clarify?
