Feature Request: Top-N Filtering for Dashboard Charts

Hi everyone,

I’m currently building dashboards for third-party funded project portfolios in Asana and identified a feature that would significantly improve reporting and portfolio visibility for larger project sets.

Top-N Filtering for Dashboard Charts

It would be extremely helpful to dynamically limit chart results to the top 10, 20, or 50 entries based on a selected metric such as:

  • budget

  • progress

  • overdue tasks

  • utilization

  • risk level

Example Use Case

When managing 50+ projects, dashboards quickly become cluttered and difficult to interpret. A “Top-N” filter would help teams focus on the most relevant projects, for example:

  • highest-risk projects

  • largest budgets

  • most delayed initiatives

  • strongest performers

This would improve readability and make dashboards far more actionable for leadership and portfolio reporting.

I believe many organizations managing large project portfolios would benefit from this capability as dashboard complexity increases with scale.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

@D_Buchbinder,

These are great suggestions, but would you mind splitting into two English Forum > Product Feedback topics so it will be possible to vote individually for each feature? That’s the policy for English Forum > Product Feedback

Thanks,

Larry

Thanks, @D_Buchbinder, for adding the following request where folks can now vote for it:

I’ve modified the title of this topic to indicate it’s for just the other initial request: Top-N Filtering for Dashboard Charts.

Thanks,

Larry
