Request:
As a Program Manager, I frequently need to replicate entire portfolios for new program cycles. Currently, there is no way to duplicate a portfolio and have its projects copied as fresh, standalone projects — instead, any duplicated projects remain connected to the originals.
What I’d like:
A “Duplicate Portfolio” option that creates a new portfolio with independent copies of all included projects, with no connections to the original portfolio or its projects.
Why it matters:
Without this, I have to manually duplicate each project one by one and add them to a new portfolio individually. For large portfolios like training execution playbooks with 20+ projects, this is extremely time-consuming and error-prone. I also attempted to use Asana AI to help navigate this process, but it did not resolve the issue and actually created additional complications, further highlighting the need for a native solution.
Workaround I’m currently using:
Manually duplicating each project individually and adding them to a newly created portfolio via “+ Add work.” This is extremely time consuming and not user friendly. It’s confusing many of my teams of 100+ stakeholders.
