Default Subtask Types

Currently we can set the default task type for new tasks, but I’m on my knees begging, give us the ability to set the default subtask type as well.

I’m a big fan of custom task types but having used them extensively over the past months, for myself and customers that I work with, I have not found a single use case yet where they would be useful as subtasks. Perhaps others have..? The current workaround is to disable them from being the default task type in the project settings, and creating a rule that will set the task type when a new task is added to the project. However, this workaround means we lose the unique UI feature of task types …

I am really desperately wanting this also. I can’t work out why some tasks have the parent’s task type as the default for subtasks, and some don’t. Unless it is down to the default task type for that project, but that is often too broad to set as the default in these less-used custom tasks where you want the subtasks to be of the same type. (Or, a regular task, where the subtasks are a particular type.)

I wish I could set the subtask type per task somewhere.

I have tried doing it as a task template, but also can’t figure out there where to change the type of the subtasks in that.

Has anyone else noticed that subtasks will default to tasks and not task types, upon creation?
