Default security settings changes implemented for templates?

Hello everyone,

We just discovered that apparently there was a change in the default security settings when using a custom template.

Before the default security setting was set to “Shared with team”, which was perfect for us, and it is now set to “Private to members” by default.

For us it would be perfect if there was a way to adapt the default security settings for your projects created from a template to our own liking.

Not sure if anyone else is facing this issue but for us that means that we have to add our global team to each project after we created it from our template, which wasn’t necessary before.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Tillmann

Don’t forget to click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the purple Vote button, as I just did!

Thanks,

@Tillmann_Feibig @lpb isn’t this a setting managed in the admin center?

Thanks for the hint! Unfortunately, I do not have access to the admin center and therefore cannot change this setting. I will forward this to our admin team and ask them whether they changed this globally.

However, does setting also apply the default security settings to templates?

I feel it should, as I know of no other place to control this.

Is the behaviour the same when you create a new project without a template? If it is different, that disproves it.

I will test this and we just approached our Asana admin and asked whether he can change the default setting back. Thanks so much for pointing this out!

curious to hear the results

(And if it was the setting we can close this topic)

Hey all, unfortunately I haven’t heard back from our Admins. You might as well close this thread I don’t want to clog the forum with this post. @Jan-Riek I’ll write you a PM in case I hear anything back, in case you’re interested in the result. Thanks so much for the help!!
