Custom Role setting Import projects and tasks doesn't work

I have a set up a custom role, with the setting “Import projects and tasks” turned off. This has successfully removed access to importing tasks to a project

However, the user can still create a new Project and select Import button, and choose a CSV file.
I’d expect this option to be removed.

Hi @TomShanley, welcome to the community! :raising_hands: Thanks for sharing this! The “Import projects and tasks” setting currently blocks imports into existing projects, but it doesn’t remove the CSV import option when creating a new project. If users can create projects, they can still start a CSV import during creation.

Workarounds:

  • Limit project creation permissions and have admins handle imports.
  • Have users share the CSV file for a controlled import.
