I’m trying to cut down some manual work during my team’s project set-up. We have project templates that contain all the various custom fields that our projects require. The issue I’m having is that we have some custom fields that vary greatly depending on the project. What we’ve been doing is manually selecting the correct info for each of those fields for every task in a project. Depending on the number of tasks in a project, that can be time consuming. I’ve tried everything I can think of - using a form and/or rules - to try and automate the population of these fields and nothing seems to work. I’m looking to auto-populate about 4 custom fields and that auto population would happen in all sections and all tasks for that project. Not sure if this is making any sense, but has anyone else had this problem?
Welcome, @Jenn_Dailey,
Have you tried using multi-select to select all tasks at once? If the custom fields are shown in List view you can set them for all tasks in a few seconds.
If you need this to be done with rules, you could have one or more rules in the template, specify a manual trigger, multi-select, and run the appropriate rules.
There’s a way to run such rules automatically if that’s what you’re after, let me know.
Thanks,
Larry
