# CSV importer imports tags but does not assign them to the specified task

The import facility imports tags but does not assign them to the specified task

Steps to reproduce:  
Export a project where a few tasks have tags  
Reimport the project  
Tags exist but are not assigned to the original tasks

Browser version:  
Chrome

Hi @Rod_Connors, welcome to the Asana Community Forum! Let’s see if we can solve this together!

As it stands, it’s currently not possible to import tags to your project using the CSV importer. We have an open request here: [CSV importer: import tags - #2 by Shawn2](https://forum.asana.com/t/csv-importer-import-tags/16270/2).

I believe you are trying to import custom fields to the tasks that already exist in your project, can you please confirm if this is what you are trying to achieve?

Hi Emily

R your question: “I believe you are trying to import custom fields to the tasks that already exist in your project”… No, that’s not what I was trying to achieve.

As I prefer working in Excel for large lists of tasks, I was testing an export, adding a few lines to it and importing it again.

Sorry to say but I’m not impressed. The request you mention has been open for almost three years. ☹ I’ve posted on there now.
