Is there a reason why the latest comment always appears at the bottom of the list? I have to scroll all the time
Because this is the natural reading order. Otherwise when you read a very long comment for example you would have to scroll back up to read the next one

Not sure i agree, the natural response would be to see the latest comment at the top like an email.
