⭐️ Command by Asana is here: ship faster with humans and agents in sync

Hi everyone,

Coding agents have changed how software gets built. But specs, tickets, decisions, capacity, and context can still be scattered across Google Docs, issue trackers, meeting notes, spreadsheets, and prompts. Engineers lose time reconstructing context, agents can build the wrong thing, managers reconcile capacity across tools, and leaders schedule status meetings because the latest information is spread across different systems.

Command by Asana, the planning and product development system for builders, is now available!

Command connects release planning, meetings, the codebase, and coding agents, so engineers can stay in flow, releases can hit their dates, and leaders know where to look for the answer without another status meeting.

:light_bulb: Learn more about what’s new below!

Stay in flow. Command automatically catalogs the decisions, context, and next steps agents need to stay efficient and keep moving. It brings together information from places like meeting notes, Slack, GitHub, ticketing systems, and the codebase, then turns that context into execution-ready specs, acceptance criteria, and tickets connected to the release they support.

Give coding agents a clearer starting point. Coding agents can work from the requirements and context behind the work, not just a ticket that captures part of the conversation. People set the boundaries, while the work history keeps human and agent contributions visible and attributable.

Releases de-risk themselves. Command monitors scope, dependencies, pacing, and risks in real time, surfacing blockers and adjusting plans before they cascade into delays. Teams can see what is happening across a release and make changes before a small issue becomes a larger delay.

Always know the status, no meetings required. Command gives engineering managers a live view of scope and delivery risk, so the answer to any leadership question is ready before anyone has to ask for it. Product, design, and cross-functional partners can follow the decisions and outcomes connected to the work instead of searching across separate tools for the latest answer.

Command is built on Asana’s Work Graph®, connecting people, agents, decisions, tickets, releases, and goals. That shared foundation gives teams inherited context, human-set boundaries, full attribution, and connected links across the systems where work happens.

If you are already an Asana customer, you can contact your Account Manager for rollout and access details. If you’d like to learn more, check out the full Asana blog post here.

@Nupur_Bhade_Vilas - Is command-by-asana compatible with asana-client-management? e.g. can a workspace pay for and use both? Including the ability for users to have both seat types?

I’m asking because we currently use Linear for product development, ticket management, feedback requests, client support, and client success.

Some of the features we have in Linear seem like they’re isolated to Asana’s Client Management product whereas other seem like their isolated to this Command product. So, just trying to get an understanding of how these two products work together under the larger Asana agentic-work-management product.

Hi, such a great question! Command by Asana is compatible with all Asana products. It’s actually a great idea to consolidate everything in Asana. When engineering work, company goals and GTM outcomes live in one system, every engineering release traces back to the specific business goal it was shipped to hit.

Great @Nupur_Bhade_Vilas! I look forward to testing it out when it becomes fully self-service to add.
