I want to make the board view and list view the same in a project I created from the creative request template.
Background: I created a creative request project from the creative request template in Asana. The board view is split into sections like: New, In Progress, Review, and Complete (I added Backlog, Blocked, and one or two more). However, the list view does not have those same sections. When I manually added those sections in the List View, and a task moves from New to In Progress in the kanban view, it does not move to In Progress in the list view.
I tried going in the board view to Groups > Group by section, but it automatically resorts back to grouping by creative request.
Clicking “Save view” won’t create a new saved view; it just saves your changes to that view. Though, if you do want to save it as a new view, click the little chevron icon next to Save view and click “Save as new tab.”
If you don’t see that button after making a change, it may be because you’re on Enterprise and either you aren’t an admin or your admins have disabled users ability to make changes to the view (though, if that were the case, I don’t even think you’d be able to set the group by, sort, filter, etc. settings to begin with).
So, try this:
Set the Group by to “Sections”
Click the “Save view” button to the right that appears once you make a change.
See if that works.
If you make a change and don’t see the “Save view” button appear, let us know.
