Better URLs Custom Field: Show Name instead of URL in List and Board views

Showing the value of a custom field (text type) containing a URL in a List or Board view ads no value, because:

  • The URL cannot be viewed in full without first opening the task
  • The URL cannot be opened without first opening the task

This could be hugely improved by doing two things:

  • For Custom Fields (Text) that contain a URL, show the Name, instead of the URL, in the List and Board view. This will work particularly well with the new emoji feature, using the Link emoji, or more relevant emojis when tasks hold multiple links in Custom Fields.

  • For Custom Fields (Text) that contain a URL, make the custom field clickable from the List and Board view.

I was just about to start a thread to request this. I would love to be able to click right from board view on a URL!
