Best way to track original due dates when a due date moves

Sometimes due to customer priorities or other factors, due dates move. We want to keep the original dates but also track the changes.

What is the best way to do this? We are currently trialing Asana Advanced so if there is functionality to do that in the Advanced version, that would be great.

It depends what your needs are.

One option is Gantt view’s baseline feature:

You can write rules trigged by a date change to take some action (log a date change perhaps).

Or maybe it’s enough that at the bottom of the task detail pane if you click the Activity tab you see a log of changes including prior dates there.
