Automatically set new due dates when duplicating section produces variable results

When using the Duplicate Section feature and checking the box to Set new due dates for duplicated tasks, I am receiving varied and illogical results. When I set the start date as December 1, 2024, the earliest task in the section is being dated sometimes weeks after that date, and similar for approaching it from the end date side. In one test of this feature, I set the end date as 8/1/26 and had tasks dated all the way back to 2014 (instead of 2024 like I would have expected). In some tests, I wasn’t able to reproduce the same dates even when selecting the same start or end date.

(To be fair, it might make more sense to use a project template for my particular project, but I still think this feature is buggy or else very illogical and non-intuitive.)
