Can you have the priority of a task set automatically based on today’s date’s relationship to the task’s start date?

If you are on the business or enterprise plan you can for example use the due date is approaching rule: Using Rules in Asana | Product Guide • Asana Product Guide
You can even configure how many hours or minutes before the due date the rule should trigger.
As action the task can be moved to a specific section or a custom field can be updated, etc
You can also configure rules for overdue tasks:
