Asana's new navigation experience

PLEASE allow us to opt out or turn off the “work, plan, workflow, company” side bar. As many have said, I don’t use any of these features. Now, if I want to view my projects and switch between them, I have to look at all of these elements I don’t use or need. I find myself avoiding opening Asana now as often because the new sidebar is so overwhelming. Makes it much harder to have Asana in side by side as well with another window, which I often do with my sidebar open for quick notes or task adds. The ability to shrink that specific portion, or disable it entirely would be greatly appreciated. It certainly affects my workflow and as others said requires too many extra clicks. I like leaving my side bar open constantly. Now I can’t.

Hello! Curious if we have a date for the end of this experiment so we know if it’s staying or not? Thanks!

@Nikko_Mendoza Wondering if there’s a plan for adjusting or rolling back this navigation experiment? Would love to know what’s staying/going so we can get our training plans finalized for our org. Thank you!

@Nikko_Mendoza – Please let us know the status of the experiment you were running through January 2026. As I mentioned previously, I think it’s important that Asana organizations/users be given the opportunity to opt in and opt out of experimental UI changes. Thanks!

Hey folks!

Sorry for the delay here. We’re slowly rolling out the new navigation to all existing customers. We recently enabled the a feature called Release Preview that enables Enterprise and Enterprise+ domains to enable the new navigation on their own. This Release Preview feature is intended to give domains some time to prepare for larger releases, but does not allow customers to completely opt-out of new features. The cost of maintaining two different navigations would be too expensive for us to maintain as our product offering grows!

We have a tentative plan to enable the navigation for all existing customers and users in early March, but the timing for when we enable the new navigation for General Availability is pending a follow up experiment we ran after the first experiment.

For now, if you’re urgently updating documentation, I’d suggest updating the documentation to reflect the newest navigation. If it can wait, I’d suggest waiting until March, as there may be a few content changes (no structural design changes) you may see in the new navigation.

Hi! Our team is interested in how to hide this sidebar, as it’s clunky and contains a lot of information the team doesn’t use. Thank you!

@Nikko_Mendoza - I wanted to check in to see if there are any plans to bring back a “Starred” view or something similar.

Having to click through different sections to find starred items like Dashboards, Forms, and others feels like a significant step backward. It also creates a real challenge for more basic users who rely on quick access to just a few key items. Previously, everything was visible in one place, but now it takes extra effort to locate them.

Would love to know if this is something being considered.

Hey there, thanks for the feedback.

Right now, the team is working through some iterations but a consolidated Starred view is not a part of that iteration at MVP. It’s definitely a consistent pain we hear from customers, but there are a few other iterations we need to prioritize before getting to that feature. Sorry that I don’t have a more satisfactory answer for you at the moment.
