Hi All – Trying to troubleshoot why tasks keep coming back and getting assigned to me after being deleted. They are not set to recur, nor are they part of a project.

The task names are what we use for a set workflow which is templated, but it seems these zombie tasks aren’t part of the templated projects. There are 3 sets of them – one set that says it was created by me, and the other two sets were created by employees no longer with my company.

I keep deleting them and they keep coming back. Scary! 🙂

Here’s an example:

Thanks for the help!

Hi @Emily_Dubin1! Welcome to the community 🙌🏻

A few things to check:

- **Task activity history** : Open one of the tasks before deleting it and check who or what created it.
- **Rules or automations** : Even if the task itself is not recurring, a rule, template, or workflow may be creating a new copy.
- **Integrations** : A connected app or old integration could be recreating the tasks, especially if they show as created by former employees.

I’d recommend keeping one of the tasks instead of deleting it right away, then sharing the task link and activity details with Asana Support so they can investigate what is recreating it.
