Hi!
In Teams, when the Asana app is integrated into a channel, the Asana bot automatically posts updates to the channel’s Posts section whenever project stakeholders create or complete tasks, etc. This can make using the Posts section for regular Teams communications ineffective.
Is there a way to turn the bot off?
Best regards,
Jocelyn
Hi @Jocelyn_Maltais and welcome to the forum!
If you want to switch all of the communications about the project off, you just need to unlink the project from the channel. You can also manage the type of notifications that are being sent by following these steps:
-
Navigate to notification settings from the + menu in the Asana dialogue pop-up
-
Select which communication notifications you wish to receive
You can find more details about this integration here.
Thank you, Joanna, for looking into this.
If I unlink the project from the channel, Asana will no longer be integrated within Teams. As you guessed, this isn’t desirable from the standpoint of keeping everything centralized in one place (project files in the channel’s Files tab, communication among team members in the channel’s Posts tab, and scheduling in the channel’s Asana tab).
Regarding points 1 and 2 in your response: unless I am mistaken, those steps manage personal notifications in Teams Chat, not notifications in the channel’s Posts.
I also read the content in the “integration here” link, but I didn’t find instructions for managing Asana notifications in a channel’s Posts, other than linking or unlinking a project, as you suggested.
To summarize, if a project is linked, all Asana notifications appear in the Teams channel. Asana provides options for personal notifications in Teams Chat, but not for managing notifications in a channel’s Posts tab.
