Allow for multiple date ranges to be assigned to tasks to accommodate team member PTO, gaps in working on a task, etc. This will keep heat map/workload estimates accurate vs. applying estimated time to dates where the task is not actively being worked on.
Welcome back to the forum. I do not fully understand your request.
What do you mean multiple date ranges? If a task has a start and an end date, would that not include when your team is on leave?
Yes but when utilizing the workload heat map, it applies estimated time to all dates evenly vs. weighting on days when work is being doing. So if a team member is on leave, if that leave date falls in the due date range, the workload heat map will apply task hours to those days regardless of no work being done.
Thanks for explaining further.
I have not worked fully with workload, but perhaps it helps if you establish a process where leave time is a task assigned for the person on leave with the duration they are on leave.
This way, that will appear on your workload. Once the leave is approved, the actual project task period can be updated to reflect start / finish - post leave?
I know it is not straight forward, but in case you wish to try it.
