Allow to create project from Templates on Mobile

Thank you!

Would be great to have the ability to create new tasks based on a project’s template(s) while using the mobile app. Every task we create in a project is based on finely-tuned and iterated templates.

Hi @Rubén_B, welcome to the Asana Community Forum :wave:t2:

While it’s not currently possible to create tasks from templates on mobile, hopefully this is something our Product team can introduce in the near future :crossed_fingers:t2: I’ll keep you posted and let you know if I have any updates

Being unable to create tasks from templates is very limiting for my use case too.

Yes I create the majority of my projects when out in the field, so working on my mobile, and the inability to create projects from template is very frustrating. I have to then create a duplicate of the project from template when I get back to the office, and then transfer over all of the information etc. When will this feature be added please? Thank you

@Rebecca_McGrath has this not yet been implemented?

This is very concerning. What is the use case for task templates if they cannot be used on all platforms? What do we tell our 100% mobile clients?

Is there any way when adding a task in the app to use a template that you have created??? It doesn’t give me the option to select a template.

Hi @Emily_Semiao, welcome to the Asana Community Forum! As it stands, Task Templates are not available in the mobile app. Hopefully this is something we will implement in future updates, thanks for your feedback! I’ll update this thread as soon as I have any news.

Thanks a ton for responding!!

Such a bummer to see this still isn’t an available function on the mobile app. Really limits our ability to utilize task templates for our team.

Hi, I’m new to asana and seem to find it impossible to duplicate templates in the app which is critical to our use if the system since our field managers use asana only by phone. Is it possible to do this?

Hi @jerome_hromiak - Welcome to Asana and to the Community! We’re currently striving to make our mobile app experience more consistent with our desktop experience. At this time the mobile experience is not identical to the desktop when it comes to templates. However, I encourage you to visit Asana’s release notes and blog from time to time in order to hear what we’re working on and what has been updated.

Thanks Alexis! Is there a way to put this into the dev queue for a release since I would think it would strongly enhance the user experience. Any way i can help to escalate to put into dev?

Hey @jerome_hromiak; Michael from Asana here.

I suggest taking a look in our #productfeedback category to see if this. Our mobile team is always working on improving our app so your feedback is important to us. If there is no post asking for the ability to copy Projects/Templates in our App, then I definitely encourage you to do so!

Hope this helps!

Bump! same issue, any resolve on this?

How does a user duplicate a template in the desktop/browser version? Is this possible without creating a project from a template then saving as a new template?

Kind regards,

All these years later… I don’t understand how this still isn’t an available option!

My laptop died and I decided to purchase an iPad Pro as a computer replacement - I’m an artist and work in the arts nonprofit sector. I spent a significant amount of time creating task templates in the browser version and now that time invested feels obsolete. Please, please, please, find a way to add some code to the app so that we can use our task templates in the app version. Especially considering I’m not even able to access the web browser version of Asana on my tablet - as it redirects you to open the app without any other options.

I used to create templates on my device when I was writing essays in notes. And I can say that it is not particularly convenient ta and I am not a professional writer. So I had to turn to an essay helper to turn in a quality paper. I liked the fact that they are working professionals. And if you compare what I wrote in the notes and their work is kalosalnaya difference.
