PLEASE add this functionality. There are so many simple (oops, wrong topic) reasons why this should be available. There are also MANY complex (inappropriate comment is threatening or abusive) reasons why this should be available immediately. MAKE THIS HAPPEN, ASANA.

So exhausting to find these basic features missing, and then when searching for a solution come across the thread on Asana’s forums that’s six years old begging for it.

We also have old comments from employees that have left - nothing bad about that, but tasks have comments with information in them that is no longer accurate. Contact info, phone numbers, etc. The admin should be able to delete or edit these. But really, there doesn’t need to be justification for why an admin may need to remove a comment from a task - that’s pretty basic and essential admin an moderator rights. The fact that I can’t do anything about rouge comments is crazy.

Another example of Asana just… leaving out needed features for years for no clear reason.

^^ Agree 100% we need this.

I have tasks created by contractors who dont understand the tool fully. The instance I am working today is a single task with now sprawling commentary. I created a new task for an item that needed to be separate vs in the thread, adn went to remove the comments that were for this “other” item because I’d already moved them over. Just realized I could not delete them! what the heck

Is anyone at / from Asana going to chyme in? When can we expect this basic function, it’s been ~7 years. I use Asana as a QA tool where I collaborate internally with a team to dialogue and thereafter share a project with a client. The “clean up” phase, after we’ve had productive internal dialogue, is incredibly tedious without this capability.

The request was created in 2019 and still ignored up to today, in 2024?

Seriously, this is a must-needed feature. One employee I fired left lot of bad comments on some of our projects and we can’t delete them. I’ve been forced to duplicate the tasks and not imported the comments… what a bad way to deal with these kind of issues.
