Sharing one of today’s questions that may be helpful for others in the community.
Q: How do I convert tasks into a project?
A: You can convert a task into a project directly from the task view.
- Open the task and click the three‑dot icon in the task details pane.
- Select Convert to → Project.
- Enter the project name and choose the team.
- Pick Blank project or Use a template.
- Click Convert.
After conversion, the task name becomes the project name, and subtasks become parent tasks in the new project.

A: Yes ! Asana integrates with Microsoft Outlook.
With the Asana for Outlook app, you can:
- Turn emails into Asana tasks directly from your inbox
- Add emails as comments to existing tasks
- Assign tasks, set due dates, and add them to projects without leaving Outlook
It works with Outlook Web and Outlook 2016 and requires an Office 365 subscription.

A: No, using Dash does not use up AI credits. AI credits are only consumed by certain Asana AI features (like AI Studio actions or AI-powered task/project actions), not by Dash usage.

Q: Is there a maximum number of tasks or subtasks in a project?
A: There’s no fixed limit; you can have hundreds or even thousands of tasks and subtasks in a single project. That said, very large projects (around 50,000+ tasks) may experience some performance slowdowns.
If your projects are reaching that scale and you notice any issues, it’s a good idea to work with your Asana account team to discuss best practices and optimization options.

Q: Can you assign cross-project dependencies?
A: Yes, cross-project dependencies are supported in Asana. You can link a task in one project to a task in another project using the Dependencies field in the task details pane, as long as you have access to both tasks/projects.
Key points:
- A task can depend on another task in a different project.
- You can mark a task as blocking or blocked by.
- A single task can depend on multiple tasks across different projects.
This helps teams coordinate handoffs and keep work moving in the right order across projects.
